“We mustn’t forget the Holocaust of Roma and we have to transmit to the new generations its memory, about hundreds of thousands innocent victims; a concrete aim to counter. Today the racism intolerance and vindictive impulse, transforms this existing situation in Europe more serious.”

This is the declaration of Piero Fassino, President of the Socialist Group of the Congress, during the European Roma Holocaust Memorial Day.

“For this reason – said Fassino - it is important that Mayors of all European cities subscribe the Declaration against Anti- Gypsyism and to apply contrast polices to each type of discrimination against Roma communities”.
