THE EUROPEAN SOCIAL CHARTER OF YOUTH RIGHTS.
"Young people are the future of society and their future is a top priority, including for local institutions. The European Social Charter is a precious tool for guaranteeing the fundamental rights of young people: the right to stable and dignified work, the right to education and training, the right to a sustainable environment, the right to housing to build a family , the right to health and a responsible sexuality, the right to be protected from all forms of vulnerability”.
This was stated by Piero Fassino, president of the Socialist Group, presenting the report on the role of local authorities in guaranteeing the rights of young people.
“Local and regional institutions - emphasized Fassino - have the responsibility to implement all the tools that enable young people to know their rights and exercise them. Ratify the European Social Charter (for those who have not yet done so), disseminate it and make it known through information campaigns, apply it by implementing good practices: all this can show to young people that we take care of them and want to provide answers to their expectations ".
