ILDG members played a central and dynamic role in the meeting of the Committee on Social Inclusion and Human Dignity of the Congress, held in Strasbourg on 30 June 2025.

Aida Karimli (Sweden, ILDG) co-authored the report underpinning the revised European Charter on the Participation of Young People in Local and Regional Life, while ILDG Vice-President Jimmy Moloney (Ireland) co-prepared the report on social housing innovations. Both texts were approved by the Committee and are set for debate in the Congress’s October session.

The Committee also held an exchange of  views on the protection of human rights at local and regional levels with a focus on the right to health, with Congress Deputy Standing Rapporteur on Human Rights Mélanie Lepoultier (France, ILDG).
