Co-rapporteurs on local and regional democracy in the Republic of Moldova Gunn Marit Helgesen (Norway, EPP/CEC) and Marc Cools (Belgium, ILDG) carried out a post-monitoring visit to Chisinau on 21 November 2019. During the visit the delegation met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Minister of Finance, the Deputy Secretary General of the State Chancellery, the Vice-President of the Parliamentary Committee for Public Administration and the Regional Development, and the Governor of the Gagauz-Yeri Territorial Unit.

The post-monitoring visit is part of a programme to ensure the good implementation of the European Charter of Local Self-Government which the Republic of Moldova ratified in 1997. Read more...
